M. R a n d a l l C o l l i n s, Jr. Government Relations AssociateRandy Collins recently joined the firm as a Government Relations Associate. He has a wide range of political and government experience having worked before the Connecticut General Assembly in both a public and private capacity. Randy began his career in politics as an Administrative Assistant to then Lt. Governor M. Jodi Rell (R); this opportunity provided him with valuable knowledge into the inner workings of the Executive Branch of government. He was later hired by the House Republican office, serving as a Legislative Assistant to several members of the General Assembly. During his time in the House Republican caucus, Randy developed a network of contacts that continue to serve him well in the private sector. During the 2000 campaign of then Congressman Rob Simmons (R), Randy served as a Campaign Coordinator for the successful second congressional district campaign. Following his work for Simmons for Congress, Randy put to use his extensive network and knowledge of state government for a Hartford based lobbying firm. Since the 2001 legislative session Randy has lobbied for a wide range of clients and legislative issues. Over the years he has developed an ability to navigate through the often-complex budget and bonding process secure funding for numerous organizations. Clients have come to rely on Randy’s advice to further their legislative agenda. Besides being politically active in federal, state and local levels, Randy is also a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. In October 2006 he returned home from his second tour of duty in Iraq, where he participated in both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Randy is a 1998 graduate of Hartwick College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
